Derrick Rowe


Derrick is an award-winning business leader with the ability to achieve strong growth in highly regulated industries. As the founder, Chairman, and, until 1999, CEO of Stratos Global...
Corporation, he built this St. John's, Newfoundland-based telecommunications company into a global success story that was publicly traded on the TSX. Derrick subsequently transitioned into the role of Chairman and CEO of FPI Limited from 2001-2005.

Sought after for his managerial acumen, Derrick has served on many economic advisory committees over the years. They include the Northwest Atlantic Fisheries Organization (NAFO), the International Trade Advisory Committee, and the Premier's Advisory Council for both the Economy & Technology and the Information Highway. A past director of the Health Care Corporation, Derrick is a current board member with Marport Deep Sea Technologies Inc.

Derrick’s business accomplishments have earned him Top 40 Under 40 honours from the Globe & Mail, the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year award and an Export Achievement Award. He is currently active in technology investments through his company Name 3 Capital.

Emad Rizkalla

President and CEO

Emad is recognized as one of North America’s pioneers and leaders in eLearning, entrepreneurship and corporate leadership. He co-founded his first company in 1992 as a young engineering student....
His third company, Bluedrop Performance Learning, was spun out in 2004 with a mission to revolutionize workplace training. Emad was honoured as one of Canada’s “Top 40 Under 40″ before he was 30 and later featured in a TIME Magazine cover story as one of eight “Young Dynamic Entrepreneurs Who Will Create the 21st Century.” In addition to publishing numerous articles about learning organizations, corporate leadership, and consulting excellence, he has been featured in dozens of publications and media such as CBC’s The National, CBC Radio, The Globe and Mail, MacLean’s, BBC Radio and the National Post.

Emad has been an active member of many national committees and task forces. He has chaired several Not-for-Profit Boards and sits on an Advisory Board for the National Research Council. In 2013, he was honored with the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Medal. He holds a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering from Memorial University.

Bob Rae


Bob was elected eleven times to the House of Commons and the Ontario legislature between 1978 and 2013. He was Ontario’s 21st Premier from 1990 to 1995, and...
served as interim leader of the Liberal Party of Canada from 2011 to 2013.

He is working now as a lawyer, negotiator, mediator, and arbitrator, with a particular focus on first nations, aboriginal, and governance issues. He also teaches at the University of Toronto School of Governance and Public Policy, and is a widely respected writer and commentator.

An author of four books and many studies and reports, Bob is a Privy Councillor, an Officer of the Order of Canada, a member of the Order of Ontario, and has numerous awards and honorary degrees from institutions in Canada and around the world.

Lecia Stewart


Lecia brings more than 20 years of senior executive and leadership expertise in the public and private sectors to Bluedrop. Results-oriented, she excels in areas such as major infrastructure...
project management, negotiations, and marketing.

Lecia served as President of both West Coast Express and Vancouver's SkyTrain rapid transit system, which led her to Bombardier in 2002. While there, she secured a multi-billion dollar project for a high-speed rail system in Florida. In 2005, Lecia started her own company and currently consults on business, strategy, and project development throughout North America.

A graduate of the Harvard Business School Executive MBA Program for Management Development, Lecia previously served on the Canadian Air Transport Security Authority’s Board of Directors from 2002-2007.

Andrew Youngman

Previously, Andrew held roles with Internet Venture Works, a private equity firm, Lesley University, a private education provider, and Marakon Associates, a leading strategy consulting firm. He possesses an MBA from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania and a BA in Economics from Northwestern University.

Taleeb Noormohamed

Vice President of Strategy and Partnerships. Taleeb has also served in key posts with the Government of Canada and enjoyed considerable success as an entrepreneur. His ventures include an innovative online community that revolutionizes the way students learn.

Currently focused on growing technology start-ups, Taleeb holds a BA from Princeton University and completed his doctoral work at Oxford University.

Carl Youngman

has been a partner in several private equity firms with assets under management totaling a billion dollars.

Currently, Carl is Chairman of Youngman & Charm, an equity investment, management, and financial advisory firm. He is responsible for CEO mentoring, strategic planning and development, change and culture management, and the sale of companies and financial advising for the private equity industry.

A Certified Turnaround Professional (CTP), Carl received a Master of Business Administration from Harvard Business School (1967) and a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Worcester Polytechnic Institute (1964). He is a member of Who's Who (America and worldwide), YPO, WPO, and the New England 49ers.

Carl is a founder and former Vice-Chairman of the Turnaround Management Association, and was the principal author of its Code of Ethics. He is also a trustee and member of the Finance Committee for Lesley University and he teaches Entrepreneurship and Managing Growing Businesses at Babson College.

Carl has been a board member of more than 50 companies, some of which are listed on the NYSE and NASDAQ. Most recently, he served as Chairman of Omni Facility Services and Uniscribe Professional Services, and he is actively involved with Mercury Media Holdings and the US Gold Network. The author of a book entitled In Search of Turnarounds, Carl attributes his success to the support of his wife, Joan.
