Bluedrop Launches Instructional Design Centre of Excellence in Fredericton, New Brunswick
Wednesday, June 20th, 2007
Bluedrop Performance Learning has announced the opening of an Instructional Design Centre of Excellence in Fredericton, New Brunswick. Bluedrop responded within days to the news of the demise of e-learning company, Provinent, and immediately hired 10 displaced employees. Further and significant growth in the New Brunswick office is expected in the next 2 years.
Over the past three years, Bluedrop has tripled its revenues and, as a result, has been expanding its staff in all of its locations. “The Fredericton location was one that we just could not pass up,” said Bluedrop President Emad Rizkalla. “We are always looking for new ‘talent markets’ and we found this talent in abundance in New Brunswick. We have just recruited an impressive array of talent including Project Management, Instructional Design, Multimedia Development and Quality Assurance. The vast majority of the new talent will remain in our new Fredericton location. These people are highly experienced in e-learning, are very committed and are already making positive contributions with our customers.”
Bluedrop has recently opened an office in Toronto and increased staff about 25% in its St. John’s office. Rizkalla added, “Bluedrop has invested significantly and continues to invest significantly in areas such as informal learning, targeted learning style assessments, simulation and mobile learning. Setting up in New Brunswick, so close to National Research Council facilities, academic institutions, international innovators and, yes, even some competition will go a long way in securing our future.”
On June 20, 2007, Bluedrop will be welcoming clients, academics and other members of the learning community to help them celebrate the opening of the office in Fredericton. Richard Haywood, Bluedrop’s Director, Corporate Development states “We are looking forward to making a valuable contribution to the New Brunswick e-learning community and welcome the opportunity to contribute to local innovation and thought leadership. We are not a company that sits quietly in the corner.”
In addition to Fredericton, Bluedrop continues to invest heavily in its talent pool in Atlantic Canada. Bluedrop’s Halifax-based Raised Media division, which is responsible for advanced video and 3D media development, recently moved into new offices in the downtown core.
