Bluedrop Wins Training Contract with Cougar Helicopters Inc.

Monday, January 12th, 2009

Bluedrop Performance Learning is adding another name to its long list of industry-leading clients. The company has announced that they have been contracted by Cougar Helicopters Inc. to develop a broad range of online training courses for pilots of the Sikorsky S92 Aircraft, the most advanced aircraft in Sikorsky’s civil product line. Building on their long history of excellence in safety and industry-leading training, Cougar has turned to Bluedrop to exploit the benefits of e-Learning for its pilots and for enhancing its stellar safety record.

Bluedrop’s experienced full-service performance learning team will work with Cougar to develop several hours of technical operations training on a number of topics including Emergency Procedures, Surface Contamination, and Winter Operations – Airborne Icing, to name a few. Each course will be designed so as to allow the learner the opportunity to interact with features of the aircraft in a real-world yet non-threatening simulated environment. “We have always taken safety and the quality of training very seriously, so we wanted to work with an industry leader to develop some of the most advanced e-learning in the industry. This will be a big benefit to our pilots and our customers,” said JJ Gerber, Cougar’s Director of Flight Operations. “Bluedrop is clearly a global leader in this area and so we are pleased to be working with them”.

The Cougar contract comes on the heels of some significant expansion for Bluedrop’s defence and aerospace division. This latest win follows closely on the heels of the announcement of a $2 Million contract to support the development of e-learning for DND’s Combat Training Centre, Training Enhancement Branch, in Gagetown. Bluedrop President and CEO Emad Rizkalla says the company is already beginning to realize its aspirations of becoming a leader in this sector. “Bluedrop is fully committed to taking a leadership position in both the oil and gas and defence and aerospace industries,” says Mr. Rizkalla. “We have much to bring to these industries and I think the business case is compelling for us to continue growing our base and partnerships in these areas.” Anticipating rapid growth in 2009 and 2010, Mr. Rizkalla identifies this new contract as representing a key partnership for the company.
